What TruzBiz Verified means

A TruzBiz Verified business has completed the applicable TruzBiz business-identity verification process. That sentence has a defined meaning — this page states exactly what it covers, and what it does not.

What it means

Verification confirms that specified business-identity information was checked against a named source category, that supporting evidence was reviewed, and that a current verified status with a check date and a renewal date was recorded. The credential — the verification number, the verification page and the seal — points back to the public business record, where the evidence behind the status can be inspected.

Depending on the business and its jurisdiction, verification may involve:

  1. Business registration information

Legal name, registration number where the jurisdiction issues one, jurisdiction and country.

  2. Authoritative or recognised business sources

Official registers or recognised sources appropriate to the jurisdiction, consulted with a recorded retrieval date.

  3. Business identifiers

Registration and related identifiers that tie the record to one specific business.

  4. Claimant verification

Confirmation that the person acting for the business controls an approved contact channel, and a declared relationship to the business.

  5. Supporting evidence

Documents or other evidence supplied by or for the business, reviewed by TruzBiz — stored privately and never published.

  6. Administrative review

A review decision recorded with its date, reviewer accountability internally, and a business-facing reason.

Listed, Claimed and TruzBiz Verified

These are three user-facing stages of the same public record. Claim and verification are separate dimensions, so a business can be listed without being claimed, claimed without being verified, and verified only when both claim and verification requirements are met.

What it does not mean

A narrow verification must never be read as a broad endorsement. Verification does not by itself mean:

  • TruzBiz endorses or recommends the business.
  • TruzBiz guarantees the business's products or services, or their quality.
  • The business is financially approved — no credit, solvency or financial assessment has been made.
  • The business is government approved or regulator approved.
  • The business has any particular level of quality, ethics or performance.
  • The business will continue operating in the future.
  • Every statement made by the business has been independently verified.

If you are viewing a verified business, check the verification date and the evidence on its public record — and remember that verification describes the business as checked, not as recommended.

Check any verification yourself. Every verification carries a number in the form TB-XXXX-XXX. Enter it at www.truzbiz.com/verify/[number] to see whether it is currently valid, when it was checked, and when renewal is due.
